Review of Dragonfly (2002) by Matt K — 03 Sep 2009
Doing some catching up again. Dragonfly always intrigued me, but had I known what it was really about, I would not have watched it. All I knew was "supernatural thriller".
There are some seriously creepy scenes in this movie. Most of them involve a kid or a parrot. I didn't expect those. Nor did I expect that many kids or tribal shit. I must say, that I like my supernatural movies to be even more supernatural. Near-death experiences are just lame. I want monsters or something. I also guessed a shitload of stuff beforehand, which is never a good thing.
When all is said and done, there really isn't anything too special about this movie. If you like Kevin-Costner-alone-in-a-big-house sub-genre though, then this is right up your alley.
