Review of Dragonball Evolution (2009) by Alec L — 09 Jul 2012

I can't tell you how bad this movie is!......They Totally disrespected their source material.....The Dragonball series is one of my favorite anime and this movie did it no justice at all.....I'll give you reasons why....

1. In the anime, Goku lives in the woods and cant even tell the difference between a boy and a girl....so why is he in high school in the movie?

2. Goku can't turn into a great ape unless he looks at a full moon, NOT a solar eclipse...,.and on top of that: Goku can't transform anyway unless he has his monkey tail (which he didn't have in this film).

3: Bulma is supposed a have a full head of blue hair, not blue highlights.

4: Krillin is a very, very important character in the series, yet he's not in the film.

5: In the original series, Goku killed his own grandfather by trampling him in great ape form, but apparently piccolo kills him in this movie.........

6: Kim created the dragonballs.....not seven mystics.

8: Master Roshi is supposed to live on an island with a 5-foot long sea turtle.....not in a city.

9: Goku riding a bycicle?

10: The kamehameha wave is supposed to be a sacred deadly energy wave used for intense combat and extreme force........yet in the film, it was used to light candles.

11: Oozaru (Goku's great ape form) is supposed to be king kong sized, in the movie he was about 6 feet tall.

So I bet you're pretty aware of where I stand on this........as a Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT fan, I'm disappointed in 21st century fox's adaptation of one of the not legendary anime to ever hit America.......
