Review of Dragonball Evolution (2009) by Daniel M — 10 Feb 2011
This is a terrible movie. It's poorly acted, poorly executed, and above all horribly written. This is what most people should look for when making a god-awful adaption of one of the greatest anime sagas of all time.
It is also one of the greatest films ever made for that very reason.
C'mon, how can you not love how awful this film is? It's so delightfully hammy and stupid that you can't help but smile every second. This is like the 2000's Street Fighter or Plan 9, so terrible and dumb that you can't help but admire it. You can tell that every actor in this film is having a blast, but special mention goes to Chow Yun-Fat and James Marsters, who bleed awesome. Really, none of the acting in this movie is cringe worthy or really bad, it's just cheesy.
If you check your brain out at the door, and know you're in for a terrible movie, you're in for a treat. Best watched with a BUNCH of friends laughing at it with you.
