Review of Dragon Tiger Gate (2006) by Chris P — 30 May 2008
While nowhere near Wilson Yip's and Donnie Yen's other collaborations, Dragon Tiger Gate is still full of impressive choreography and action set pieces. It's just that when the film slows down for the plot to catch up, you can't help but get bored.
And then there's the villain, who has no purpose for being, except for getting the shit slapped out of him by Donnie at the end. Sammo Hung he ain't, and SPL this isn't, but the film is still worth seeing for the nifty visuals and exciting hand-to-hand skirmishes.
