Review of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022) by Inshane — 20 Aug 2022
“Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” was a fun watch. Just to get one thing out of the way: The CG animation isn’t that bad. Quite the contrary, it made for a lot of cool shots and dynamic camera angles. One of the best things about this movie, is the fact that they focus on other characters besides the two main hitters. It’s so refreshing to NOT see Goku and Vegeta front and center for a change, and have the rest of the gang take care of business!
All that said, one problem I had with the movie was that it didn’t do much to pump me up the way the other movies did. This is BY FAR the weakest movie in the “Dragon Ball Super” series, feeling like a silly filler arc most of the time with very weak steaks that don’t really sell you on it’s premise. Also, the "Big Bad" is a mere shell of one of the best villain's in the whole series. As a non-canon movie, this movie isn’t necessarily required viewing, but if you’re a big “Dragon Ball” fan, this is a solid matinee movie.
