This was a very annoying film, mainly because of cheesy one-liner after cheesy one-liner, but it had an excellent storyline- but horrible acting. There's so many pros and cons in the film.

Dan Aykroyd plays Sgt. Joe Friday and actually gives a dead on impersonation of Jack Webb's character. Sgt. Friday is a no-nonsense LAPD cop who takes his job very seriously. Somebody who doesn't: Tom Hanks' character Pep Streebek, who is Friday's new partner. I've noticed lately that Tom Hanks' comedic roles seem simply terrible. First "The Burbs", now this! Anyway, there's been various crimes going around by a gang by the name of "Pagan". Friday and Streebek do everything (literally everything. They even go to a Pagan ritual and pretty much do things nobody would ever THINK of doing) to solve the mystery. Of course, since this a 1980s flick, there's a subplot about Aykroyd dating a virgin, Connie Swail. Great.

Anyway, this is a very cheesy, unfunny movie. Dan Aykroyd is always too silly (like his very fast annoying voice and some embarassing facial expressions) and Tom Hanks made one cheesy joke after another. His comedic movies are almost never funny. For two, the whole MOVIE has cheesy joke. It's one big sillyfest. Sure, hate all you want on Paul Blart but now you find Dragnet to a Godfather of its time! Everybody is bad at acting, Dan Aykroyd is annoying as crap, and this whole movie is a clear stinker. Don't watch it, it's grade-A crap. 'Nuff said.
