Review of Drag Me to Hell (2009) by Brian C — 16 Apr 2012
The critics must have been paid off handsomely to review this so highly. Drag Me To Hell has a few decent shocks, and a few funny moments, but when it all comes down to it, it's everything you expect from a PG-13 horror flick.
Cheap jump scares, loud music to make them extra predictable, and a distinct feeling that an R rating would have made all the difference. It should have been a no-holds-barred, stomach-churning shocker, and coming from Sam Raimi, it's watered-down feel is all the more disappointing.
This is not the throwback to The Evil Dead series that it's been praised as.
