Review of Drag Me to Hell (2009) by Irene I — 27 Jul 2012

I finally watched this movie and I really gotta say this movie is a blast, seriously this movie is so damn spooky and also at the same time really funny. Sam Raimi returns to what he's great at, making very campy Horror movies and this movie Drag Me To Hell is very campy and honestly that's what makes this movie work.

The entire tone of this movie is like watching an Evil Dead movie which is awesome but at the same time the tone is a little different which is also awesome because that's Sam Raimi doing something new and fresh.

But now as the scares in this movie they really worked because when I was watching this movie there were times I felt pretty crept out. There's also a lot of jump scares in this movie which are actually pretty scary when you first watch this movie.

Now as for the story of the movie I did find it interesting because like I said it's a very creepy idea and Sam Raimi does a good job at that, but I did find at some parts I was thinking to myself why is this happening.

I think some scenes in this movie really made no sense at times, but really I can forgive all that because this movie is just so fun to watch and you just don't care about the negative stuff. Sam Raimi really directed this movie well I actually think this movie is probably better than Army Of Darkness which is saying a lot because Army Of Darkness is a good movie, but this movie Drag Me To Hell was better.

It had a better story, it had more scary moments, it had a better cast and it actually had more funny parts in it. I know that sounds weird because I've been talking about how creepy this movie is, but there are actual funny parts in this movie that are pretty damn funny and some people might not think it's funny but I sure do because that's just your typical Sam Raimi movie for you.

So I would of course recommend this movie to people, but mainly to people who love the Evil Dead movies because if you like those movies you will get a kick out of this one and have fun with it.
