Review of Drag Me to Hell (2009) by Movie K — 19 Nov 2012

Quite scary and disgusting horror movie. In 1969, a boy is bring to see a medium Adriana Barraza but the boy is drag to hell from the floor. Alison Lohman is a loan officer, asking her boss David Paymer of the assistant manager post.

He says she and another guy Reggie Lee are up for it. Justin Long is her boyfriend. Lorna Raver asick old lady try to ask for loan extension. Alison try to help but David says it is tough fight. She took it upon herself to reject her.

Lorna kneel and beg her but fell down. She said Alison shamed her and escorted out. She attack her when she takes her car at the carpark. Lorna took her coat button and place curse on her. Alison want to read her fortune at Dileep Rao place.

He forsee her curse. At home she got hit by weird force. While sleeping she swallow a fly and have nightmare. Her work is affected. She go to the old lady house to seek forgiveness but she is already dead.

Her grand-daughter says Alison deserve the curse. Dileep check for her and find out the devil is Lamia. She have to give blood offering. She can't do it because she is a vegetarian. At home she is thrown by the devil.

She have no choice but to kill the pet kitten for offering. Justin bring her to meet the parents. She hear noises and go berserk for awhile. Dileep told her he will bring her to see a more powerful medium and need $10k.

Alison try to get advance loan from David but fail. He says her deal was off and she lost the promotion chance. She sold her stuffs but just not enough. Justin helps her and brings her to see Adriana the medium.

They start the ritual and summon Lamia. Unfortunately, the assistant can't kill the goat when it is transfer to the goat. Adriana manage to chase it away but she died. Dileep told Alison its not over yet.

He tell her to give the button away in order to divert the curse to another. At the diner, she wanted to give to a sick old man but when he have a loving wife, Alison change her mind. She call Reggie over and wanted to pass it to him and change her mind.

She got the idea to give it to the dead and Dileep says it may work. Alison dig the grave of the old lady and shove it to her. She nearly drown in the grave pool but climb up in time. David call her and says they know about Reggie stealing her file to sabotage the proposal and she is gonna get promoted.

She meet Justin at the train station and she bought a new coat, threw the old one away. Justin then took the button out wanting to sew back. Alison is shock and walk backwards, fell onto the track and drag to hell.
