Review of Drag Becomes Him (2015) by Ana R — 24 May 2015

I was blessed to be in audience at the premiere in Seattle with Jerick Hoffer, his family and his extended drag family. I watched it again the other day for the second time. It's an amazing, honest, revealing documentary on how Jinkx Monsoon was born.

Jerick was already a star before Rupaul's Drag Race but winning America's Next Drag Superstar brought him to a bigger audience. I loved the early film footage of his early drag performances. It's great to see the wonderful relationship and the loving support that he has with his family.

Alex Berry and Basil Shadid have done a brilliant job and thank you for allowing us to see behind the curtain of this multi-talented drag performer's life. It's a must see documentary!! I feel like I know Jinkx Monsoon a lot more intimately than I did before!
