Review of Draft Day (2014) by Dave R — 20 Apr 2014
If only Jennifer Garner was cut completely out of this movie, then it would be decent. Her character/role/relationship with Kevin Costner feels so completely fabricated, it's a waste of time. The movie is attempting a make believe scenario similar to baseball's Moneyball, but some of the scenarios don't work.
First of all, I've been following the NFL my whole life and have never heard of a team trading 3 #1 picks ever, and I mean ever. All of the picks in one draft for a player, yes with New Orleans taking Ricky Williams.
But 3 #1's? No way. That makes this hard to watch, plus Cleveland making smart moves? Now that is a fantasy.
