Review of Draft Day (2014) by Charles K. B — 11 Aug 2014
Acts as a feel good version of Moneyball focusing on a day of the life of the GM of the moribond Cleveland Browns, wanting to come out of the shadow of his father and making the franchise his own on the biggest transaction day of the year, the NFL Draft.
Sanitized and feel good as is a lot of Costner sports dramas tend to be, the film really takes off as the draft begins and you really see how the decision making really takes place and the frenzy of it all is really palpable.
Would have been cool to see the results of the titular tagline, but otherwise not bad if standard.
