Review of Draft Day (2014) by Emily Y — 12 Oct 2014
Being a sucker for sports movies (and if I'm being honest, Kevin Costner), I enjoyed this flick for what it is - a feel-good, at times cheesy, happy ending, sports flick that explores the inner workings on draft day.
Similar to Moneyball in that it showcases the wheeling-and-dealing that occurs with player trades, money, and drafts picks between teams. Through in the twists of a girlfriend, needy family, and tension among the ranks and you get this sharp-tongued drama.
If you're into sports movies, you'll likely enjoy it well enough. If you're not, then it's probably best to skip this one as it certainly is not a must-see film.
