Review of Draft Day (2014) by Bill F — 19 Apr 2014
I had a great time at Draft Day. It showed the inner working of the NFL, was engaging, and had intrigue. plus it got the wheels spinning.
It's easy to pan a movie like Draft Day...but those negative critiques should be taken with a grain of salt. The movies is tightly directed by Ivan Reitman, who certainly knows his way around a script. Costner, Langella, Leary, Garner, Patrick St. Esprit, Chadwick Boseman, Terry Crews and Arian Foster were all top-notch.
I went with somebody who doesn't give a damn about football and she loved it...and felt fully-engaged.
It's refreshing to see a movie with a real story...that doesn't take place in some alternative world, with real people insteat of mutant-looking hybrids.
