Sometimes people forget that stories have to be retold to keep them interesting. Bram Stoker didn't invent the Vampire, nor did he come up with the story of Vlad the Impailer/Dracula himself. He adapted an original story to his own tastes.

If you wanted to see Bram Stoker's Dracula, then go watch Bram Stoker's Dracula. This was a good story of what lengths some people would go to for revenge and to protect their family, and the idea that this is a "modern" concept is an idiotic one.
