Review of Dracula Untold (2014) by Frederic C. B — 30 Mar 2015
The Good:
Luke Evans looks really cool, and his performance as the titular character is astounding. The special effects to showcase Dracula's abilities are amazing. There are some surprises that aren't as predictable.
The Not-so-Good:
Just like many other whitewashing in this movie, Dominic Cooper doesn't work as a Turkish Sultan. His character is very one note and cheesy. Plot holes and character inconsistencies abound. The intro narration already spoiled half if not most of the movie, so the ending can already be noticed even before the movie starts to get interesting. Fun pop-corn movie, but it could've worked better with more depth.
