Review of Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) by Tom G — 29 Oct 2007
The best Dracula film Hammer ever made, with the possible excpetion of it's predecessor, D:POD is great fun even today. Thorley Walters and Christopher Lee hand in the best performances, but everyone is superb, and Andrew Keir's Father Shandor does a great job as Van Helsing's replacement.
Things do run out of a steam little at the end, with an exciting chase giving way to a rather crappy finale involving a frozen river getting shot up, but that's the only quibble I can have about this superb, and intensely likable, film.
