Review of Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995) by Josh G — 20 Feb 2010
After considerable consideration, I have found that this is one of Mel Brook's weaker films. This is partially due to a few facts.
1 - My older brother told me nearly every joke that would've given me stitches (and they did when I was told them), so I didn't enjoy it as much.
2 - The trailer showed every other joke that I was previously not told about, but I wouldn't really blame the trailer.
3 - I enjoy Mel Brook's films, I really do. After seeing a several of his previous films (there are some I have yet to see), I feel that I have seen this movie already. It did however peak interest in watching a Dracula film, even one of the older films.
It is still fairly enjoyable; good performances by everyone, well done screen play, good directing, and good use of music.
