Review of Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995) by Joe H — 01 Jul 2011
Jonathan Harker: She's alive?
Van Helsing: She's Nosferatu.
Jonathan Harker: She's Italian?
As with every Mel Brooks movie, Dracula: Dead and Loving It is incredibly stupid. With some of his movies like Blazing Saddles that's ok because they are extremely funny. That's not the case with this one. Every joke falls flat and it seems like the actors and Brooks knew the material wasnt very good, but what the hell, I'm Mel Brooks, people will watch it. Leslie Nielsen definitely is a very funny guy, but this movie just didn't give him much to work with. I thought it had a chance to be just a stupid fun hilarious time. Unfortunately, it was only stupid.
