Review of Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995) by Tim S — 09 Feb 2011
As of this writing, this is the last Mel Brooks movie ever made. Is it particularly watershedding like his previous classics Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein? No, it's not, but that doesn't matter much.
For me, ANY Mel Brooks movie is an event, regardless of quality. His comedies are so much more engaging, charming and memorable than any of the other comedies being released out there. Sure the jokes aren't consistent, and sure we've probably seen most of this already in other films, but I don't care.
It's a Mel Brooks film, and that's something to celebrate. Personally, I love it and happy that he made it. :).
