Review of Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972) by Ryan V — 09 Sep 2016
A group of stoned hipsters revive Dracula (Christopher Lee) in modern day London for this reboot of the Hammer Studios series. The Count predictably begins seeking out the descendents of his old enemies for revenge and he eventually finds Jessica Van Helsing (Stephanie Beacham).
Jessica, however, is protected by her father (Peter Cushing) and his battle with the vampire once again takes the action to an abandoned cathedral. This film has a few chilling moments along with its amusing cheese, but Dracula AD 1972 is undeniably inferior to the movies that preceded it.
I'd recommend this to Hammer buffs only.
