Review of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) by Adam S — 24 Feb 2012
One of Stanley Kubrick's best films (although that is a big call, considering the quality of his catalouge) and featuring some of the finest performing from Peter Sellers (again, a huge call), Dr. Strangelove has become an integral part of movie history, and a must watch for all.
Sellers stars in 3 roles. Most famous, of course, is the German scientist Dr. Strangelove, but my favourite role of his is the President. The scene where the President is on the phone to the Kremlin is one of the funniest scenes in movie history. At least to me.
Also memorable is Slim Pickens' role as Major "King" Kong, the pilot of the bomber that was at the center of the plot. You could tell he was really living the character, and it really was a memorable performance.
