Review of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) by The Critic ( — 09 Aug 2012
It says a lot about a film that offers many laughs without ever losing sight of its message. 'Dr. Strangelove' is a wonderfully written and impeccably acted piece, with Peter Sellers in exceptional form in the multiple roles of British officer Lionel Mandrake, US President Merkin Muffley, and the title character, a former Nazi, with excellent support from George C.
Scott, whose conversations with the President and Soviet Ambassador Alexei de Sadeski (Peter Bull in top form) are the picture's highlight. Another fine effort from Stanley Kubrick.
