Review of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) by Joe P — 09 Oct 2012
This is Kubrick at his best. A razor-sharp satire, chock full of smart dialogue and enjoyable characters (most of whom are portrayed by Peter Sellers), "Dr. Strangelove" was released shortly after the Cuban Missile Crisis and at the peak of Cold War tension.
Yet long after the fall of the USSR, the film's message retains its relevance especially in an age where Mutually Assured Destruction is more prominent than ever, but dismissed as just another paragraph from the history books.
