Review of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) by Hunter M — 17 Apr 2014
A dark comedy, Dr. Strangelove pokes fun at the cold war era threat of global nuclear war. Kubrick is pointing out how silly and insane it is for a nation to allow the possibility of "mutual annihilation" by use of weapons of mass destruction.
Peter Sellers' and George C. Scott's magnificent performances set the standard for all satirical comedies to follow.
