Review of Dr. No (1962) by Chris R — 03 Oct 2012
The original 007 adventure still holds up quite nicely and takes a nice and comfortable place in my top ten Bond list. The main draw to the film to this day is still Sean Connery, who shines best as charismatic characters such as Bond, although rumor has it he was pretty shy.
Whether he was shy or not, he shows great character and would stand out as the best Bond. The story is not quite as good as some other 007 films, but it's the one that's done much better and just seems like an all around classy action film, if one can possibly exist.
I cannot recommend 'Dr. No' highly enough, being the first Bond film it's a perfect start to those new to the series.
