Review of Dr. No (1962) by Lawrence B — 20 Oct 2012
Fifty years on and director Terence Young's original James Bond adventure holds up extremely well and remains a top-class contender in the series thanks to some sublime creative collaborations - Young's fast-paced direction, Ken Adam's hi-tech set designs, the signature Monty Norman-John Barry theme music and, by no means least, Sean Connery's elegant, evergreen presence as 007.
Coming in at $1 million, and looking fantastic for its age and budget, its a great and remarkable which puts some other entries in this franchise (and others) to shame, though the next two - "From Russia With Love" and "Goldfinger - would be even better.
