Review of Dr. Cabbie (2014) by Thegodfatherson — 10 Jan 2015
I caught Dr. Cabbie on VOD, and thought it was amusing becuase we have a production of Salman Khan and acting by the irresistible Vinay Virmani who amused IndoCanadian audiences with Breakaway in 2011.
Dr. Cabbie was a half baked arouse. I rented it with expectations that it would be a funny, canadian comedy. And it was, if the sex jokes could be lowered to family viewing. Vinay gives a splendid performance as Deepak, but Tony played by Kunal Nayyar was the most sick character in the movie.
His job was just to drive a cab, whistle at ladies and tell sex jokes throughout the movie. This addition means Dr. cabbie shuffles onto the mediocre platform, although it has a nice message and some really funny jokes, it's weighed down by the stripper aunt with socks as boobs, Tony and his sex jokes, and the weird uncle who owns a resteraunt called Korma Sutra.
It's that manipulation of sex, that makes Dr. cabbie an okay movie. If that wasn't enough, Isabelle Kaif strips int he movie. If that's enough horny excuses for you to watch Dr. cabbie, go ahead. If not, ignore this movie and wait for another Vinay Virmani movie that gets it right.
I give it a 4/10.
