Review of Downsizing (2017) by Helen Melia H — 31 Dec 2017
It's a story of a man who gives up on everything until he finds something that he can't. It is hard to see this theme, at first I asked what was the point. You see it over and over in the film.
He gives up his choice to commit to the procedure for his wife's happiness. He gives up on his marriage then the next relationship he comes into. He gives up on his past career because it's inconvenient.
Until he breaks the womans prosthetic leg he wanders without purpose. His eyes are then open to the similarities of the small world and the big one. I don't think this was a bad movie, just the message wasn't beaten over your head.
It did need another scene at the end.
