Review of Downsizing (2017) by Wannabedirector — 03 Jan 2018
The problem with Downsizing comes down to everything in the script. The dialogue is unnatural and makes the actors seem awful. The story is pretentious, cramming in 2 seconds worth of commentary on different kinds of "relevant" topics.
The only one that's important to the story is a "Save the Environment" message that's been done to death. The directing is on the level of an Adam Sandler film. The special effects are generic, the cinematography is uncreative, and the music makes me WANT blood to leak from my ears.
I was hoping for something interesting in this movie, but all I found was a stupid, unamusing attempt at "meaningful" sci-fi.
