Review of Downsizing (2017) by Andres T — 15 Dec 2017
When scientists discover how to shrink humans to five inches, Paul (Matt Damon) reluctantly volunteers in an effort to show firsthand the effects of fracking in subterranean earth now that shale rock fractured by pressurized liquid has released natural gas, petroleum and brine in this new documentary starring Matt Damon.
Although likely claustrophobic for many when Paul's tiny body began his journey downward through the recently produced cracks in the Earth, his heroic swims through oil rapids were spectacularly filmed by the miniscule camera on his tiny helmet and were admittedly very exciting.
However, the contestant flatulent jokes when Paul encounters natural gas are tiring and his complaints about the salt in brine made me thirsty throughout the entire movie. Mr. Damon has given me enough information over the years on the negative effects of fracking that I didn't need to spend another 2.
5 hours and spend extra money to see it in IMAX to realize that fracking is bad. It's time for another Bourne movie sir, or anything in fact that is not about fracking...
