Review of Downsizing (2017) by Marcdoyle — 03 Dec 2017
The first third of this film is brilliant and hilarious stuff. It's most everything you see in the trailers. Unfortunately, it settles into much more mundane, tedious sequences which lack humor. The final few scenes are satisfying, but they're not enough to rescue the film.
Damon is generally solid in his "every-man" role, and Wiig is great, though her role is brief. Incidentally, the funniest bit in the trailer - the tapping massive vodka bottle - didn't make the final cut, which is a bummer.
