Review of Downsizing (2017) by Syd S — 13 Nov 2018
Interesting initial concept that then goes way beyond in an effort to explore many sides of it's theme. I felt like I'd been on a real journey with characters and settings that spoke to me. I really enjoyed Matt Damon's muted performance, Hong Chau was a very welcome injection of humour and heart.
And so many other great actors popping up all over the place. Sure it's another story of a privileged white man finding himself, but it does it well, and doesn't sugar coat his naivety, nor hero worship him for learning to be better.
