Excellent movie, and pretty accurate as far as I know. If not, it's still very realistic, and doesn't try to make you care about the characters with no good reason to. But, it presents Hitler and his followers as humans, not just evil robots.
It shows that even a person who has good qualities, and can be very caring, and you care for, can still be a despicable person. This overrides the good. And to not realize this about the person, or yourself, it's "no excuse to be young.
