Review of Downfall (2004) by Nate O — 03 Sep 2012
Iâ(TM)m kind of a history buff when it comes to this particular part of our past. Ever since my high school teacher had us watch âEscape from Sobiborâ? I have always had an interest. I donâ(TM)t think this interest makes me sick or sadistic.
I feel I watch these movies to understand what true evil is and more importantly, how to get the hell away from it before itâ(TM)s too late. This movie explores the side of the war the seldom people saw but rejoiced over.
I watched a special on the history channel the week before watching this movie. I am shocked at how good of a job the casting crew did matching the actors with their historical counter parts. Bruna Ganz gave me the chills from start to finish.
His acting alone was more than enough to take you to the bunkers just before Hitlerâ(TM)s demise. This is one of my top movies to watch when exploring the history of WWII!
