Review of Downfall (2004) by Kieran G — 27 Jul 2013
Oliver Hirschbiegel with his forth film has earned himself a spot alongside the liks of Spilberg and polanski by crafting a WWII story based upon the truth that never fails to becompletely engrossing. Bruno Ganz gives what may go down as his greatest performance as the delusional dictator, but rather than play him as a cartoon as others have he show cases a frail humanity much like Peter Lorre in Fritz Lang's M (1931).
If you are looking for true insiders look at the apocalpyse, you have no where to look here.
