Review of Downfall (1997) by Andrew S — 30 Sep 2009
A riveting study in isolation, despair and human crisis, freshly told using the most dehumanised and unlikely of subjects in the form of the Nazi ruling elite. The range of reactions to their inevitable defeat and the ensuing collapse of allegiances, relationships and Hitler's sanity is entirely gripping, if very harrowing viewing.
