Review of Downfall (1997) by Ivan L — 19 Feb 2010
Fascinating insight into the final days / few weeks of Hitler's reign at the helm of the Third Reich. Based on a secretaries diaries there is little to corroborate the drama as written, but it is compelling none the less, not least because it is a German film I believe.
Bruno Ganz performance as Hitler is very, very good whether it is accurate or not (and who can tell). If you like the genre (history, war etc) then worth seeing on DVD.
