Review of Downfall (1997) by Manny C — 06 Sep 2010
An important and grim film about the final days of the Third Reich within Hitler's bunker. The complexities of Hitler's character, complete in its brutality and humanity, are eerily realized in Bruno Ganz's performance.
The power of this film is its historical accuracy, the varied fates of the leaders and followers, and the realization that youth is no excuse for lack of political awareness.
