Review of Down with Love (2003) by Sunil M — 04 Jun 2008
I'm a big fan of romantic comedies. Give me a classic romantic comedy like "How to marry a millionair" or "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and you got me smiling. So it was no doubt that this throwback to classic 50's love would make me smile with glee.
This movie is like a tribute to those fun, easy good feel romps that uses clever writing and beatiful sets as there canvas. Renee Zellweger writes a book about a womens right to have sex like a man, and the story follows her character trying hard to become famous and eat her yummy man cake on the way.
Ewan McGregor is her nemesis as Catcher Block, womanizer and playboy of New York. What happens next is cute and funny and down right campy! A superb and witty romantic comedy that very few people have taken time to watch.
