Review of Down to You (2000) by Seann C — 28 Jul 2006

Okay, Okay. I'll admit that there isn't much that is very special about this film. It has only a few really funny lines.

I don't enjoy the direct dialogue towards the audience, because I go to a movie to escape, and speaking to the audience merely gives me the impression that the writing was belived to not be good enough, the actors were believed to not be good enough, and there was no other way for this film to speak to me than directly.

Still, I enjoy rom-coms in which the story is portrayed over several years. I thought that overall this was sweet, and that there was a bit of on-screen chemistry between the two leads (whom, by the way, I do find talented).
