Review of Down to Earth (2001) by Jack Y — 23 Mar 2008
Remake of a remake, but closer to the remake in terms of characters, story and even lines. However, Rock’s take on Heaven Can Wait is actually very good and the characters likeable; plus the change in race provides an extra level of humour not present in the second filmed version of this story.
Rock and King are great leads; Palminteri a nice replacement for James Mason.
