Review of Down Terrace (2010) by Jason Jay L — 08 Sep 2011
Inventive family drama offers somewhat unique experience. Very Mike Leigh, ends up spoofing the genre of serious heart-felt British dramas in unusual ways. No way, really, to have a neutral reaction to this one.
Fun touches include authentic folk music, authentic settings and cast, and clearly handheld low-budget technology to achieve somewhat unforgettable experience. In the end, an endearing effort, made with heart and a viciously dark deadpan sense of humor.
