Review of Down by Law (1986) by Aaron T — 30 Jun 2008
Not Jarmusch's best film, but it follows many of his conventions in a very good way. You have several smaller stories strung together, involving people coming from different perspectives making for some very awkward and interesting moments.
You won't be expecting the movie to end as early as it does. As is normal of Jarmusch, it examines human interaction and behavioral tendencies in a very honest way, whether it be hilarious or tragic.
All three stars put in excellent performances.
