Review of Doubt (2009) by Hal M — 28 Dec 2010
If you appreciate literate scripts this is a must-see. In fact I really dislike the default one-line review RT has up there. The strength of the movie is Shandley's script--which very closely follows the play which I did happen to catch on Broadway.
That is not to denigrate the acting: It's one of Streep's best performances, and Hoffman is flawless. The one critical thing is must say is that this is undisguisedly "STAGEY". Thus better seen on stage than on the screen.
