Review of Doubt (2009) by Joel C — 26 May 2015
It was enjoyable. Good acting by all the great character actors. A little bit of a dramatic, tense, ultra-serious movie. People need to explode with creativity when allowed to run free. It had a lot of heart like some of these interesting dramas that are coming out, they are actually a little bit more of brilliance and freedom and that works, even though as a Canadian, I wasn't totally impressed with this movie found it too serious and boring.
But I kind of remember the relationships and the good natured, but slightly harsh tone that isn't really for us but we watch anyway because I guess some people enjoy this and others like it even though lots of people will never understand or enjoy - me being one.
It was excellent dramatic serious love filled movie with a huge amount of old school charm and some brilliant character acting by Meryl Streep. Seymour Hoffman does a charming job with his troublemaking character too.
I thought it was great entertainment albeit a little cheesy.
