Religion is possibly the worst thing that has ever hit this world. It was caused 98% of wars in the world, people kill other people because of it and it just gives us more rules to follow. As if we didn't had enough as it is...

And what's worse is it can suck every inch of human out of people and they just become like robots. Just like Streep's characters in the suspcious, prison religion based film Doubt.

Just this film can show what a monster religion can turn people into and howeven when you think you haven't sinned, you might be closer to hell than you expect...

Hoffman plays a priest who is excused by one of the nun's (Streep) of being a sexual predator to a young boy named Donald Miller, after he is called to see the priest then afterward starts acting strange and has the smell of alcohol in his breath. But these are all just bits of evidence to a lost case that cannot be proved and the only thing keeping it going is Streep's nun, who just plain doesn't like Hoffman's priest, is this certain gut feeling that tells her she's right and why is this? Because of RELIGION! She is so sure she's doing the wrok of God she is blinded by the truth that there is to much reasonable doubt to actually be 100% sure about her views on this priest.

The main theme of this hatred by Streep's nun is authority, she feels that she is the best leader for the school(even though it is almost the same as a prison) and believes in keeping everything the same as it was and that it must stay like this forever. But Hoffman's priest believes that with the time changing so must the church which is a lot more opened minded, and he also believes in having emotions instead of being just a robot to religion. And once again this hatred which God supposedly didn't want from us is because of RELIGION! It really just does more bad than good all the time.

When you watch this film you'll realise this even more...

The two leads give some of the best acting I've seen, and the lack of music with the long speeches between characters gave Doubt it's own original type of filming.

4/5.
