Review of Doubt (2008) by Allie L — 22 May 2013
An epic powerhouse of a movie. It doesn't have a lot of action, and yet you are sitting on the edge of your seat, hanging on Meryl Streep's every word. She produces one of the best performances I have ever had the honor to witness, and creates such a complex character that we love and need to follow.
She is a hard woman, once called a dragon, but we absolutely believe her, and are behind her the entire way. Philip Seymour Hoffman also puts forth an amazing performance, as does Amy Adams, and Viola Davis, who threatens to steal the scene from Meryl Streep, an endeavour not many have gotten close to.
An absolutely great piece, and a great adaptation of the already fantastic play.
