Review of Doubt (2008) by Kevin H — 25 Jan 2018
75/100.
"Doubt" written and directed by John Patrick Shanley offers a story entertaining enough to see, despite the fact that the vision of it never quite hit the spot, but what makes it truly exciting to see are the magnificent performances of his cast, and that is to see an interpretive duel between two greats of the performance as Philip Seymour Hofmann as the charismatic Father Brendan Flynn and Meryl Streep as the rude Sister Aloysius Beauvier is sublime, and if you add to that the talent of Amy Adams and Viola Davis As additions, you have an extremely stimulating film.
