Review of Double Indemnity (1973) by Gregory B — 29 Mar 2009
The first film noir that I never felt dragged on. Barbara Stanwyck was perfect as the femme fatale . She stood out throughout the entire movie. The costume design on this movie was flawless and stood above the rest.
It's use of costumes and sets as omens to what was to come and what was happening to the characters is the best I've ever seen in film noir. The movie was extremely well shot and the Billy Wagner, the director, did an amazing job of keeping you guessing even though you knew the ending at the beginning.
A perfect film if you are into film noir.
